Education Awards

will recognise schools, coordinators and principals who are creating measurable impact in students’ road safety behaviour across India, with national honours presented during the prestigious GRIS 2026(Global Road Infratech Summit) in New Delhi on 5 February 2026.

Awards overview

The National Road Safety Education Awards are an initiative under of the National Road Safety Mission for Schools (NRSM) to support India’s larger Vision Zero and school-based road safety education efforts. The awards will celebrate institutions and individuals who ensure that road safety is not just taught as theory but integrated into daily student behaviour and school culture.

Participation and eligibility

To be eligible, a school must ensure that at least 50% of its total student strength successfully completes the NRSM road safety course on NRSM platform along with the depth and continuity of each learner’s road safety journey, including completion rates, assessments and engagement, role of school leadership in promoting road safety education, road safety clubs, Safe School Zones.

Award categories

There will be three core award categories under the National Road Safety Education Awards:

Best NRSM Coordinator Award

honouring school coordinators who drive registrations, course completion, parent engagement and innovative road safety activities.

NRSM Impact School Awards

recognising schools that achieve high student participation, strong learning outcomes and visible road safety culture on campus. Activities undertaken in Road Safety Clubs, Safe School Zone program and others.

Principal “Best Change Maker”Award

honouring visionary principals who make road safety a core school priority and actively drive behaviour change in the wider community through, student-led initiatives and sustained outreach, Road Safety Clubs and Safe School Zones Program.

National and State-level honours

The final national-level felicitation will take place during the GRIS in New Delhi on 5 February 2026, where the top 5 schools, top 5 NRSM coordinators and top 5 principals from across India will be honoured on stage. State-level School awardees and student awardees will receive their certificates and trophies in their respective schools.
