Terms and Conditions for Participation in the National Road Safety Mission for Kids and Youth:

By registering for the National Road Safety Mission for Kids and Youth (NRSMKY), participants and their guardians agree to comply with the following terms and conditions, aligned with the applicable laws and regulations of the Government of India.

  1. Eligibility
  • Participants: Open to students from Grades 1 to 12 enrolled in schools across India.
  • Compliance: Participants must meet the specified age and grade requirements for the program modules.
  1. Registration
  • Mandatory Registration: All participants must register on the official NRSMKY website by the specified deadline.
  • Accurate Information: Participants must provide complete, accurate, and up-to-date information during registration.
  • Consent for Communication: By registering, participants and their guardians consent to receive communications via SMS, WhatsApp, email, and phone calls regarding program updates, important information, and other relevant notifications.
  • Data Protection: All personal information will be handled in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
  1. Code of Conduct
  • Integrity and Honesty: Participants are expected to uphold integrity, honesty, and discipline throughout the program.
  • Prohibited Conduct: Cheating, plagiarism, disruptive behavior, or any form of misconduct is strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification.
  • Compliance: Participants must adhere to all instructions, guidelines, and rules provided by NRSMKY during the program.
  1. Data Collection and Privacy
  • Compliance with Laws: NRSMKY collects and processes personal data in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, and related regulations.
  • Purpose of Data Use:
    • Program Administration: Managing registrations, assessments, and participant progress.
    • Communication: Providing updates, notifications, and essential information.
    • Impact Assessment: Analyzing data to improve program effectiveness (data used will be aggregated and anonymized).
  • Consent: By registering, participants and guardians consent to the collection and use of their personal data as outlined.
  • Third-Party Sharing: Personal data will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent, except as required by law.
  • Data Security: NRSMKY implements reasonable security practices to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
  • Access and Correction: Participants and guardians have the right to access and correct their personal data held by NRSMKY.
  1. Intellectual Property Rights
  • Ownership: All content provided by NRSMKY, including curriculum materials, videos, simulations, and assessments, is the intellectual property of NRSMKY.
  • Limited License: Participants are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the materials for personal educational purposes only.
  • Restrictions: Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, modification, or commercial use of NRSMKY materials is strictly prohibited.
  • Violation: Any infringement of intellectual property rights may result in legal action.
  1. Liability
  • No Warranties: NRSMKY provides the program and materials on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind.
  • Limitation of Liability: NRSMKY and its affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from participation in the program.
  • Technical Issues: NRSMKY is not responsible for technical difficulties, including internet connectivity or device compatibility issues that may affect access to the program.
  1. Program Modifications
  • Right to Modify: NRSMKY reserves the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the program at any time.
  • Notification: Significant changes will be uploaded to the website and users are requested to check for the changes time to time.
  1. Participation Fee
  • Learning Program: Access to learning modules and the final assessment is free for all students.
  • National Road Safety Olympiad:
    • Optional Participation: The Olympiad is optional and requires payment of a non-refundable participation fee.
    • Fee Structure:
      • Government Schools: ₹50
      • NGO-Supported Schools (Underprivileged): ₹50
      • Government-Aided Private Schools: ₹100
      • Unaided Private Schools (CBSE, ICSE, State Boards): ₹500
      • International Schools: ₹1,000
    • Purpose of Fee: The fee contributes to covering costs related to technology infrastructure, content development, video production, and administrative expenses.
  1. Recognition and Rewards
  • Certificates: All participants who complete the program will receive digital certificates of participation.
  • Awards: Top performers in the Olympiad at state and national levels will receive medals, trophies, and public recognition.
  • School Recognition: Schools with exceptional participation and performance may be acknowledged and awarded.
  1. Program Framework
  • Curriculum Alignment: The program is informed by guidelines and advisories from:
    • United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UN SDG) 3.6
    • World Health Organization (WHO) Road Safety Coalition
    • Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India
    • National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
    • State Traffic Police Departments across India
  • Educational Standards: The curriculum aligns with national educational objectives and incorporates best practices in road safety education.
  1. Affiliations and Disclaimers
  • Non-Affiliation:
    • NRSMKY is an independent initiative and is not officially affiliated with the United Nations, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), NHAI, or any other government body unless explicitly stated.
    • All references to these organizations are for informational purposes to indicate alignment with global and national road safety goals.
  • Use of Logos and Trademarks:
    • All logos, trademarks, and service marks displayed in program materials are the property of their respective owners.
    • Use of such logos is for identification and educational purposes only and does not imply endorsement.
  • Disclaimer:
    • NRSMKY does not claim any official partnership or endorsement from the aforementioned organizations unless expressly stated.
  1. Consent and Agreement
  • Acceptance: By registering, students, parents/guardians, and school authorities confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
  • Commitment: Participation signifies acceptance of NRSMKY’s mission to promote road safety awareness among youth and contribute to a safer society.
  1. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
  • Applicable Law: These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of India.
  • Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the program shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Gurugram, Haryana, India
