The National Road Safety Mission’s (NRSM) Summer Olympiad 2024 was a resounding success, reflecting the program’s commitment to fostering road safety awareness among the youth. Here’s a snapshot of the highlights from this year’s Olympiad:

Launch and Participation:

  • Program Launch: The Olympiad officially kicked off on March 27, 2024, with an overwhelming response from students across the nation.
  • Widespread Registration: By May 15, 2024, thousands of students had registered, eager to enhance their road safety knowledge.

Learning Phase:

  • Dedicated Learning: Until June 22, 2024, students engaged in a comprehensive learning phase, absorbing essential road safety concepts through interactive modules.
  • Remarkable Course Completion: Out of the 75,179 enrolled students, an impressive 34,546 completed more than 60% of the course, while 18,893 students finished over 90%. This reflects the program’s effectiveness in keeping students engaged and committed.

Olympiad Day:

  • National Road Safety Olympiad: On June 23, 2024, students put their knowledge to the test in a nationwide online competition, showcasing their understanding and application of road safety principles.

 

Results and Reports:

  • Results Announcement: The Olympiad results were announced on July 14, 2024, highlighting the top performers who excelled in road safety awareness.
  • In-Depth Analysis: A detailed report was released on August 20, 2024, shedding light on various aspects of the program, including participation metrics, learning outcomes, and student engagement.

Key Achievements:

  • Student Engagement: The average time spent by students on learning was 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 5 seconds, across 14 sessions, with daily active users averaging 15,587.
  • School Participation: The program reached 2,543 schools across 299 cities and towns, with 912 schools actively participating, showcasing the program’s wide geographical impact.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Bloom’s Taxonomy Comparison: Students who participated in the NRSM program scored significantly higher in knowledge, comprehension, and application of road safety concepts compared to those who did not attend any structured awareness programs.
  • Improved Metrics: The overall learning metrics demonstrated substantial improvement, with knowledge scores averaging 3.52, comprehension at 2.75, and application at 2.38.
