Presenting Partner: International Road Federation (IRF) – India Chapter
Global Expertise. Local Impact. Safely Guiding the Next Generation.
The National Road Safety Mission (NRSM) is proudly presented by the
International Road Federation (IRF) – India Chapter, the regional arm of
IRF Geneva (holding UN ECOSOC Consultative Status).
From Policy to Pedagogy: The 5E Approach
IRF-IC is renowned for its comprehensive
5E methodology—Engineering, Education, Enforcement, Emergency Care, and Evaluation.
While their work in Engineering includes auditing high-speed corridors and rectifying black spots
with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), this mission marks a strategic pivot toward
the most critical pillar: Education.
IRF believes that infrastructure alone cannot save lives;
behavior must change. As the Presenting Partner, IRF-IC is translating its decades of
technical research into actionable Road Safety Education for school students.
By “catching them young”, we aim to transform students from passive commuters
into active, responsible road users.
Through NRSM, IRF-IC brings world-class safety standards directly to Indian classrooms,
ensuring that the journey to school—and the journey of life—is safe for every child.
Knowledge Partner: ATMA | ITTAC
The Authority on Tyre Safety & Vehicle Fitness
The National Road Safety Mission (NRSM) is privileged to have the
Indian Tyre Technical Advisory Committee (ITTAC) under the aegis of the
Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA) as our official Knowledge Partners.
ATMA represents the apex body of the Indian tyre industry, including giants like
Apollo, JK, MRF, and CEAT, while ITTAC serves as the industry’s technical backbone.
ITTAC | ATMA are the custodians of safety standards, regulations, and technical innovation
in the Indian automotive sector related to tyres.
Bridging the Knowledge Gap
Road safety is not just about human behaviour; it is also about vehicle fitness.
As Knowledge Partners, ATMA and ITTAC bring critical technical expertise to the NRSM curriculum.
They are helping us integrate often-overlooked aspects of safety—specifically
Tyre Care and Maintenance—into school education.
Our Shared Vision
Tyres are the only point of contact between a vehicle and the road.
Through this partnership, ATMA and ITTAC ensure that the next generation of drivers understands that
a safe journey begins before the engine even starts.
Their contribution ensures our educational modules are
technically sound, comprehensive, and industry-validated.
