FOR PARENTS
Absolutely! We understand that your child's safety is your top priority. At the National Road Safety Management (NRSM) program, it's our priority as well. We believe every child deserves a safe and happy experience on the roads.
The NRSM program equips children with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate their surroundings safely. Through engaging lessons and activities, your child will learn essential road safety skills that will keep them protected. These skills include safe pedestrian crossings and proper bicycle riding techniques.
By enrolling your child in the NRSM program, you're giving them the tools and confidence they need to make safe choices on their way to school, during playtime, and everywhere in between.
Your child will learn age-appropriate skills like safe crossing, proper cycling, and car passenger safety through fun activities and lessons!
Absolutely! NRSM knows parents are important too. They offer resources and workshops to help you learn alongside your child. This way, you can both be on the same page about road safety and keep your child extra safe.
You got it! Forget boring lectures! NRSM makes safety fun with:
- Pretend Play: Kids act out real-life situations like crossing streets or riding bikes. It's more engaging than just listening!
- Practice Makes Perfect: By pretending, kids practice the safety skills they learn. The more they practice, the more confident they feel on real roads.
- Age-Appropriate Scenarios: Little ones might practice holding hands while crossing, while older kids tackle trickier situations like busy sidewalks or distracted drivers.
NRSM helps kids learn by doing, so they're ready to be safe stars on the road!
Of course! We get it, stressful situations on the road can be scary, even for grown-ups! Here's how NRSM helps:
- Confidence Boost: Knowing the rules and practicing safe habits makes kids feel braver on the road.
- Talk it Out: We encourage open chats about emotions and anxieties kids might face. This helps you reassure them.
- Practice Under Pressure: Role-playing lets kids make safe choices in pretend stressful situations. This helps them stay calm in real life.
- Be Aware: NRSM teaches kids to watch out for potential dangers. This way, they can avoid stressful situations whenever possible.
NRSM helps kids manage their emotions and make good choices on the road. Plus, by talking things out and practicing together, you can build your child's confidence even more!
Keeping calm is key! NRSM teaches kids these tricks:
- Stop, Think, Act: Take a breath, assess the situation, then make a safe choice.
- Breathe Easy: Learn simple breathing exercises to stay calm in stressful moments.
- Practice Makes Perfect: Role-playing helps kids practice staying calm when they face unexpected dangers.
- Talk it Out: Discussing potential dangers with parents helps kids feel prepared.
- Be Aware: Knowing what's going on around them helps kids spot dangers early and avoid them altogether.
NRSM equips kids with the skills to stay cool and make safe choices, no matter what!
Want to be your child's road safety partner? NRSM makes it easy:
- Join the Fun: If offered, help out in your child's NRSM class. Seeing you involved makes learning even more fun!
- Talk it Up: Chat with your child about what they learn in NRSM. Ask questions and clear up any confusion.

Absolutely! Keeping kids safe on the road is our top priority, and we know that safety education needs to be fun and engaging for them to learn best.
Here's how NRSM caters to different age groups:
Keeping Our Little Ones Safe (Preschool) (Ages 4-6):
We know young children are full of curiosity, and keeping them safe on the roads is our top priority. Our program uses fun activities, catchy songs, and exciting stories to introduce them to basic road safety concepts. Imagine learning about holding hands while crossing the street or recognizing traffic lights through fun games!
Growing Up Safe (Elementary School) (Ages 7-11):
As children get older, their understanding grows too! Our program builds on those basics and makes learning interactive. Kids can participate in playful activities like simulations and role-playing to learn traffic rules, how to be safe as a pedestrian, and even how to be responsible cyclists. It's like learning through fun games!
Becoming Responsible Road Users (Middle & High School) (Ages 12-18):
Teenagers are becoming more independent, and we want to equip them with the knowledge they need to make safe choices on the road. Our program dives deeper into important topics like road signs, defensive driving strategies (think "seeing and being seen"), and avoiding distractions while using the road. These workshops and discussions are all about helping teens become responsible and confident road users.
No matter their age, NRSM believes every child deserves to feel safe and confident on the roads. That's why we tailor our programs to make learning fun and engaging for all ages.
Kids love phones and toys, but not while walking! NRSM tackles distractions in two ways:
- Teaching focus:
- Little ones learn that walking means eyes and ears on the road, not on toys (think fun activities, not lectures!).
- Older kids understand the dangers of distractions like phones through interactive games and real-life examples.
- Building good habits:
- We encourage singing, talking, or playing "I Spy" with parents instead of phones.
- Putting away toys before going outside becomes a routine (designated play zones help!).
- Teenagers role-play scenarios to see how distractions can lead to trouble.
NRSM works with parents to keep kids safe. We teach them, you model good behavior, and together, we keep them focused on the road!
Scared of your child repeating your close calls on the road? We get it! NRSM helps in two ways:
- Teaching smarts: We give kids the knowledge they need to avoid danger. They learn about traffic rules, safe walking habits, bike safety, and why it's important to stay focused (no phone games while walking!).
- Building good choices: We don't just teach facts, we help kids understand why safety matters. They learn about patience, following the rules, and respecting others on the road. This all adds up to making responsible choices that keep them safe.
NRSM works with you to keep your child safe. We equip them with knowledge and the right attitude, and you can use our lessons to talk about safety at home too!
NRSM covers it all!
- Walking safely: We teach kids the A-B-Cs: Always look both ways, use crosswalks, and Be aware of their surroundings (no phone games!).
- Riding bikes safely: From wearing helmets to using hand signals and sharing the road, NRSM equips young cyclists with the skills they need.
- Staying safe in cars: Buckling up and using car seats are key! We also teach kids the importance of not distracting the driver and staying calm in the car.
No matter how your child travels, NRSM helps them be safe and smart on the road!
You got it! NRSM helps kids become safe and confident on their own two feet (or wheels!). Here's how:
- Smart Choices: They learn the rules and how to spot dangers, giving them the power to make safe decisions.
- Practice Makes Perfect: Through pretend play, kids practice using their knowledge in safe situations. This builds confidence for real-life roads.
- Taking Charge: We talk about responsibility, so kids understand they can make choices that keep themselves and others safe.
- Growing Up Safe: As kids get older, the program helps them become more independent on the road.
NRSM equips kids with the knowledge and confidence to be safe stars on their own!
NRSM helps you be your child's road safety partner at home too:
